I had a great experience with Paws Boss. The communications were very professional and timely. The emphasis placed on the well being of the puppy, as well as the trustworthiness of both the seller and buyer, were very reassuring. The one thing I would change is the extra fee tacked on at the end after the transaction had been agreed upon. But other than that, I highly recommend dealing with Paws Boss.

The staff at Paws BossC guided us skillfully throughout the process. They answered all of our questions promptly and even provided additional photos from the breeder during the process when we asked for them. We were concerned about buying from an unknown buyer in case it was a puppy mill. We were happy to learn that Paws Boss screens all breeders carefully. Paws Boss was amazing through the process of selecting our new fur-baby. Extremely patient, polite and kind with the many questions that we had! I did a ton of on-line research to insure we went through a legitimate company as there are so many fraudulent sites out on the Web, through Facebook and Instagram. But not Paws Boss, they are definitely a legitimate professional company that has everything in order to insure you safely get the puppy you choose! I would definitely refer them and will be where I go in the future for our next pup 😉

My experience with paws Boss was pretty much perfect that being said, I can understand where most of the complaints come from. Some people mentioned “dealing” with multiple people. That is because every step of the process is managed by a different employee. Like most businesses. Another common complaint was puppy arriving in less than perfect condition. An eight or nine week old puppy traveling by itself for a multi-leg flight has a high chance of arriving in less than perfect condition due to stress. Just like humans. This was made clear to me in great detail on two separate occasions before the arrival date. Fortunately they also give you instructions in great detail to resolve the issues. My particular puppy arrived wet from urine which didn’t seem surprising to me. That’s why they tell you to give it a bath as soon as you get it! There were also complaints about the costs of vet visits and medications after the puppy arrives. These costs were also made clear in great detail in advance. And honestly I suspect the people complaining about that are people using a payment plan to pay for a multi thousand dollar dog. It is my opinion that if you can’t pay for a dog upfront you can’t really afford a dog. The “true cost of ownership“ of a dog is immense and the $100 vet bill and the $15 for deworming pills shouldn’t be a hardship after buying a multi thousand dollar dog. Yes, my dog was diagnosed with hookworm. There are many kinds of worms dogs can get from the environment and they can get them repeatedly throughout their lifetime so I was not surprised or offended that my dog had worms. As good as my experience with paws Boss was, I don’t know that I would choose this method of puppy procurement again. Although they have high standards, the details of those standards are a little unnerving. They say that the breeders are well vetted, but not all breeders get an in person site visit before they’re allowed to list their puppies. Paws Boss also states the breeders pledge to only let the dogs have a certain number of litters of puppies to ensure the health of the dogs. While that’s nice, pledges are not guarantees and I don’t know how they monitor or enforce that. I was fortunate that my breeder turned out to be a very responsible person and did an excellent job feeding and socializing the puppy in it’s first nine weeks of life. Hopefully that’s everyone’s experience, but it does seem like there is room for that to not be the case. I would suggest that anyone using paws Boss ask for the details of the breeders home. How many people live there, how many males, how many females how many children. I hadn’t read enough before I purchased my puppy to know I should ask that. Once I did I felt better but I had already purchased the puppy so the result could’ve been different. I have been trying to get a dog for about a year and a half through breeders and rescue leagues with no luck and I was simply tired of waiting, so this was the easiest way to do it. I’m not sure I would do it again unless it was specifically with the same breeder. It’s just too much uncertainty for my particular nerves.
